I am associate manager at Spitec Ltda,, an enterprise dedicated to provide solutions in the logistics field.

Formerly I was assistant professor at the Computer Science Department of the School of Engineering of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. My research areas have mainly been related to FLOSS (Free / Libre / Open Source Software), Information Technology and Security. If I have to give a shorter description of my interests, I would say "Social impact of Information Technology". I studied Ingeniería Civil en Computación (Computer Science/Engineering) at Universidad de Chile, and afterwards my PhD in Computer Science at the same university with a 2 year stay at the Collide Group at the University Duisburg-Essen.

From October 2001 to September 2003 I worked with the COLLIDE group at the University Duisburg-Essen (formerly Gerhard Mercator-Universität Duisburg) as part of my PhD Thesis.

Until September 2001 I worked at NIC Chile.
